That Type of Power

There is nothing more depressing than put your hope in people. Sometimes people will say things just because a spur of the moment. People say they'll do things for you and they'll be there for you just call me if you need them, but in actuality they don't mean anything they say. There's only one person I can trust to keep their word. There's only one man who will do what he says and mean it and that's God. When you put your hope in people you give people power over your feelings your emotions your thoughts your passions your dreams. No one should have that type of power over you.

You possess your vessel you control what goes in it and what you keep out of it. So when it comes to people you can't allow them to dictate to you how you feel. You can allow someone's actions toward you determine how you will feel that day. When you give people your power you make yourself open to being a target of depression and anxiety.
