The Power Of The Scope

As I sit in my bed and replay my day I realized how powerful vision is. My focus is always on my future, my next move. It's never really on right now. I'm always concerned with what's going to happen next. I mean I live in the now and I understand that, but my vision is always set on the bigger picture. As I am getting deeper into my walk with God and doing what it takes to have a better understanding of the word of God I'm always reading it. I realize that whenever I hold a verbal conversation with someone I can never not say God, Lord, or Jesus...be it jokingly or in all seriousness. I will always say one of the three or all of the above. Your vision is vital. It plays a key role in both your successes and failures in life. Peep this, you live in a world but you're not of the world. You live in the world and participate in certain things of the world but a matured Christian understands and values the importance of not allowing the things of the world to effect your spirit. For instance, I listen to secular music. I like most secular songs. However, because I listen to secular music I have to be careful and be mindful of what it is I'm listening to, the affect(s) it has on me (my flesh and my spirit), and how I am perceived when I listen to that particular song or genre of music. Example, songs that promote sex, especially when I'm spending time with my boyfriend. We've made the decision to abstain from sex until marriage, but being that we weren't always abstinent it's not healthy for us to listen to songs that promote what we're trying to separate ourselves from. It's just like your vision, what you see is what you receive. Example: You go to school to learn, you sit in a lecture and watch the professor write notes on the board, your brain then processes that information and internalizes it for future reference. What you allow into your mind and your thought process begins to saturate into your spirit and has an effect on your heart (it's one in the same). What's on the inside of you determines how you act, how you treat people, how you talk to people, and how you present yourself. I want to be a virtuous woman of God, a strong business woman and entrepreneur respected by my peers and colleagues and a person who positively affects the young people in this world. Since I want to be this type of person I have to do what it takes to ensure that I'm taking in the necessary "knowledge" I will need in order to become the woman I want to be. I realized I can't hold a verbal conversation without mentioning God, lord, or Jesus because the word of God is always in front of me. I'm either reading the bible, a devotional, a book, or watching a video or live stream of something pertaining to the word of God. The word of God is what I see daily, it's what is saturated in my spirit. No matter the context of my conversation my mind subconsciously references God. Be it out of CONVICTION because I'm not doing what I should be doing/ stepping out of the will of God or CONSTRUCTION, thinking will this build me up or make me stronger (positive reinforcement). Your vision determines your future. What you're focusing on has the power to make or break your spirit. If I spent most of my day listening to sad stories and watching sad and depressing videos, then it's more than likely I will feel sad and depressed. What I've taken in I've slowly internalized and it's in turn altered my mood. Just as I absorb positivity, depending on the circumstance and my vulnerability, sometimes I catch myself soaking into the negative. That's why it's so hard to guard your heart and protect your vision. What you see is what you think. What you think determines how you act. How you act determines your character. Your character determines how you will be received and treated. Your vision has the power to make or break you. What is your scope projecting? “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light. But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness!” Matthew 6:21-23 AMP Love, ChelCy
