"Love vs. Lust. What it really means to love..." My experience with the battle of overcoming lustful desires in the mind and the revelation of real love. To truly love someone there are no limits. There are no "but's", "well, if they...". There are no stipulations or reservations when you love. In order to love you must care, and in order to develop a sense of caring for another being you must have a connection with them. In order to maintain a connection you must value each other, and the only way someone will value another soul, one must have a certain level of respect for the other party. Real love is reciprocated between all involved. Meaning, those persons you love, love you back! To be in love with someone is to nurture and adore their soul; to look past their faults and flaws, and embrace the ugliness that makes them uniquely them. To love them deeper than you could've ever imagined you could love someone. Being in love is often confused with lust. My definition of lust: -Lust is an emotion derived from an untamed perception of what your flesh is telling your mind you want or need; the action of wanting to partake in, often times, sinful acts involving another person or thing in a sexual manner. Lust can be viewed as either a weakness or a stepping stone towards uncapping the evolution of your next level. How you view your lustful desires are weighed solely on your confidence in yourself when it comes to overcoming in difficult situations. Lust is an emotion -emotions are derived from actions. For someone to feel anything there would have to first be a thought. Thoughts reside in the mind. Therefore to lust for something or someone it means there's a battle that is taking place in your mind. When you recognize that you aren't in love, you are in lust -you now have the opportunity to choose your next step. There are 1 of 2 choices you can make....
1.) To overcome your lustful desires and fight to win this battle of the mind. 2.) To continue living a life embodied in lust and unfulfilled desires. Lust is like a leech -it continuously takes away from you and it won't stop until you remove it from yourself; it's never full, constantly sucking the life out of you until the last drop, if you let it. Overcoming the battle of the mind -Lust: • In order to overcome any battle of the mind you must first have to equip yourself with the knowledge of God. The only way to equip yourself with the knowledge of God is to read his word. His word = the bible. -to attain the knowledge of God and comprehend what is written, you'll need to make yourself vulnerable and sensitive to his word and voice. To hear his voice, you must be filled with his spirit and have faith; but first you must be saved/born again. • Why? Because your flesh is weak! Why choose to fight a battle alone when you can join the winning side and allow your father to fight for you. After being filled with the Holy Spirit and the speaking of tongues on December 5, 2011, when I opened the bible -The King James Version- I could see things I've never seen before. I read straight through the scripture without stopping every other word trying to figure out what was being talked about. I could now relate and find myself captivated in The Word of God. It was like the blindfolds were taken off and I had a new vision. I've always seen 20/19 but this time it was clearer, it was perfect, it was everything I needed, and it proved that I was not alone. To overcome your lustful desires you must continually pray and confess that your mind is no longer the devils playground -that you are powerful not powerless! Everything you need to overcome any battle is already on the inside of you! Every one you need to fight your battles with are already with you, you just have to acknowledge that you can't face this situation alone and there's only one man who is strong enough to help you win -God! Your lustful desires won't leave you overnight -it's a constant fight, but you have to be willing to fight off temptation. When you realize an attack is coming on strong PRAY, pray until the urge has lifted, and praise God -even more when it's gone.
My flesh is weak, but our God is strong -Lesson Learned! Love, ChelCy
