Sweet Pea's Customs & Cakery (formerly known as ChelCy's Custom Creations) is a small business founded in 2012 by Chelsie Scott. Chelsie's business started her junior year in college. Being a Business Management major at Lamar University, Chelsie decided to apply what she was learning in the classroom to real life. One day while she was in her dorm room she opened her wallet. Chelsie, like most college students realized she was broke. With only $20 left in her wallet she said to herself I'm going to take this $20 bill and start my business. She called her business ChelCy's BOWdacious Bow's. Chelsie has always been a social media junkie. She noticed how popular customized bows were becoming and being that most of her friends had children and knew people who had daughters, she decided to give the bow making business a shot. Chelsie started a facebook page, made a few sample bows and sold out. Her $20 investment turned into a $40 return, a $20 profit. Chelsie turned her crafting hobbies into a now growing business. Although, ChelCy's BOWdacious bows was never a "legal" business, it taught Chelsie 3 key life lessons. One, It takes money to make money. Two, believe in yourself enough to go for your dreams and do what you love.
